We hosted AI Day in Bangalore on 10th February 2024. This dynamic event served as a beacon for AI enthusiasts, experts, and industry leaders, converging to explore the ever-evolving landscape of artificial intelligence.
Moreover, AI Day wasn't just about presentations. The event had the air of networking, collaborating, and learning. Attendees and speakers connected with like-minded people to exchange ideas and discuss all things AI.
Take a look at what the day looked like!
Fireside Chat
Fireside Chat with Pratyush Choudhary, Investor at Together Fund, was moderated by Kshitij Agarwal, Founder, Atommic AI. Pratyush highlighted the subjective nature of the right timing for approaching VCs, emphasizing that it varies across firms.
At Together Fund, they typically invest in startups ranging from pre-seed to pre-series A stages, spanning from conceptual ideas to those generating up to $1 million in revenue. He stressed the importance of founders having a deep understanding of their problem statement, the competitive landscape, and their unique advantages when they seek funding.
Additionally, he underscored the significance of starting with a broad focus and gradually narrowing down to create a niche product, aligning with market needs. Regarding the moat, he emphasized that a company's and founder's strength lies in their business model. De-disking assumptions is crucial, as not all assumptions made at the outset may hold true. He suggested that the journey of de-risking these assumptions forms the moat for startups.
Choudhary also discussed emerging patterns in AI, noting that AI products, particularly those with high usage frequency, offer personalized experiences to users, thus conferring a competitive edge. Leveraging data collection to refine product offerings and shape user behavior was highlighted as a strategic approach.
Tech Talks by Leaders
Dr. Pratik Desai, founder of Kissan.AI, delivered a presentation on "Bridging Knowledge Gaps in Agriculture." He highlighted the challenges faced by farmers, including limited technological awareness, a lack of unbiased information, and low levels of language literacy. Recognizing the need for a solution, Kissan.AI embarked on developing a user-friendly tool to address these issues. They collected and curated data to build an original knowledge base, aiming for simplicity and low latency. In March, they launched Kissan.AI, an end-to-end voice-based conversational co-pilot available in various Indian languages. This innovative platform allows farmers to ask questions in their preferred language and receive audio responses, effectively bridging the gap between agricultural knowledge and those who need it most.

We also had Ravi Theja, Developer Advocate Engineer at LlamaIndex. In his presentation, he discussed the development of multi-modal and multi-lingual applications using the RAG framework, emphasizing the importance of integrating various components to facilitate information retrieval, aggregation, and generation processes. He highlighted the significance of Indic-language models in enabling effective communication and comprehension within diverse linguistic contexts. Additionally, he touched upon the role of tools like the Llama Index in optimizing information retrieval systems. Overall, his talk provided insights into advanced techniques for building versatile natural language processing applications capable of accommodating different languages and modalities.
