Octanebench is a GPU benchmarking utility created by Otoy as a tool to define the general compute power afforded by any combination of graphics cards in a computer. When this utility is run, it produces a combined “score” for the system being benchmarked, noted as Octanebench points.

OctaneBench is the currently most popular GPU Rendering Benchmark. It scales beautifully across multiple GPUs and has a series of rendering tests built-in. The OctaneBench Benchmark Rendering Results are assigned linearly scaling OctaneBench Points.

OctaneBench allows you to benchmark your GPU using OctaneRender. This provides a level playing field by making sure that everybody uses the same version and the same scenes and settings. Without these constraints, benchmark results can vary a lot and can't be compared.

It is the popular GPU pendant to the well-known CPU Benchmark. These benchmarks are crucial in finding the best Hardware for GPU Rendering, and ultimately the best Computer for Rendering.
