Project Based Access Control (PBAC)
- For the first time on MyAccount users can have Projects for their Teams / Development Environments / Projects. Project will provide isolation to manage workloads for different purposes.
- Users from Project A can only manage workloads running inside Project A and Users from Project B can only manage workloads running inside Project B.
IAM (Identity and Access Management)
- Access control is an important part for any Enterprise. Any company that uses E2E cloud may require multiple specialists (staff members) to have access to MyAccount for a variety of purposes.
- Access to dev-ops and platform engineering staff members to run workloads.
- Access to members of the Finance and Accounting team to see billing and payment pages.
- With new IAM the MyAccount owner’s can invite and add more users to the account. Provide them Roles to carry out important actions within MyAccount, or attach an IAM user to a Project and isolate their ability to access workloads and services within the assigned Project.
Multiple CRN Access To One User
- A single user can receive invites from more than one MyAccount and yet with a single username and password combination can access all of them.
- The IAM user can switch between CRNs (Myaccount) and perform actions based on Permissions or Role given for the specific CRN.
What Changes For Existing Users?
Default Project For Every MyAccount
- With new changes coming in effect, having a project inside a CRN (Myaccount) is a must have requirement.
- All MyAccount products and services will be project-dependent.
- A project with the name Default will be created for every MyAccount and all your existing workloads will be associated with the Default project.
- Unless you choose to create a new Project and create workload inside it. By default all the workloads will be created inside the Default project.
IAM Is The New User Management Section
- A new IAM section will be introduced in Myaccount.
- Users will be able to manage Projects, Users, and Policy sets from the IAM page.
- The User Management section will be removed from Settings.
Invitation Section
- This is the place where logged in users (IAM users) can see Invites from different CRNs (Myaccount) with status.
Other Key Points To Note
- Users will be able to switch between projects (Authorized).
- Users will be able to switch between CRNs (Authorized).
- MyAccount products and services will be project-dependent.
- A product or service cannot be transferred to any other project at the moment.
- Policy sets will be specific to individual projects.
